Oscar's Jersey

Good Morning my lovelies,

So you all must know by now how much I adore the Shore! They make me laugh with glee and fist pump the air like.... errr.... a jersey boy!

Now imagine Jersey Shore set in late 19th century aristocratic England. Everyone has a stiff upper lip. Fancy velvetty clothes which cover them completely. Everyone has a posh, eloquent voice and you understand every word they are saying. Picture the following jems said in this manner:

"I want to spoon."

" I want to fork."

"I hooked up with him when I was 21. I am 23 now. That was years ago"

"Grenades are fat ugly girls and landmines are skinny ugly girls."

"That's why I don't eat lobster or anything like that. Its alive when you kill it."

"I'm not touching one dish because I cooked a crazy meal and she has the nerve to tell me to clean my plate. You know what? You are excluded from dinner then. From now on,  you are excluded from surf and turf night, you are excluded from ravioli night and you are excluded from chicken cutlet night."

"No, no, no, no. We coordinated the feast while you got your nail and hair did today."

"Stumpy Bastard."

If you are wondering what that might sound like, you can find out here. EW posted a series of videos made by actors (Santino Fontana and David Furr) in a current production of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Ernest.  They use the brilliance of Oscar Wilde and attach it to the atrocities of the Shore. This is so ridiculously brilliant. It really is.

What I find so great about it is that Wilde wrote comedies like Ernest which made fun (oh so eloquently) of the upper crust english culture he lived in. And Jersey explores a culture (I use this term loosely) - really we should say subculture obvs not all people from Jersey Shore are like this - and America  does much the same as Oscar did - make fun of their quirks. I wonder what he would say about the Shore...

God, can you imagine more Jersey related Oscar Wilde fare: The Importance of Being Guido or Snooki Gray: One girl's quest for a gorilla juice head and eternal youth.... That would be tots epic. ACTUALLY that is what the shore is about really.

Brit Brit: Till The World Ends

With the release of Brit Brit`s new music video for Till the World Ends, there has been again some controversy about whether she is actually dancing in the video.

What do you think? Do you think there are moves here that Brit Brit cannot do?

Personally, it seemed to me that she was not doing as much dancing in her last video Hold it Against Me, but this one, it really looks like her to me. She is moving more slowly, which is something I had noticed with her dancing since her troubles. She isn't doing any moves that I don't think she is capable of.

Also, I really like both this song and the video! I have listened to it many times - just today haha

On a related note, her opening act on her tour is going to be Nicki Minaj!! That is pretty wicked! I think I might consider going to see her if she comes to my end of the world!

Because Waiting Sucks

Good Morning Truebies!

Now I love True Blood - this might connect back to my guilty pleasure regarding things supernatural -- including surprisingly or not Supernatural - and this video helps get me through the terrible cold months of winter here in Canada. I cannot wait until the season 4 premiere this June. I find the creator Alan Ball does a good job of giving us little teaser videos for the new seasons.

This video is of my favourite character, Eric, played by the sexy Alexander Skarsgard (see my list of Top Ten Hotties). If you do not want any spoilers for the upcoming season, I do not recommend watching this video. SPOILER ALERT. If you want to have more questions for the upcoming season and a tiny tid bit of information, watch this video.

OMG!!!!! This makes me super happy and excited for the new season!!!!

This season is based on the fourth (and my favourite) of the Southern Vampire Series (also known as the Sookie Stackhouse books). I love this book sooo much because of that guy above!

Anyway, thought I would start the day off right with this post.

The Jersey Floor

I have a lot of guilty pleasures: reading teen fiction usually about some sort of supernatural creature (and who am I kidding, adult fiction with supernatural creatures <Hello Sookie Stackhouse, I am looking at you>), reading blog after blog about celeb gossip, listening to music my dad is soo not proud of (basically everything I like that he doesn't), and watching bad reality tv. (I have sooo many more I am sure I will discuss here, but that is all the embarasment I am willing to dish out for now).

One of my favourite raunchy, bad but clearly wonderful reality shows is Jersey Shore. My heart swells at the sound of "cabs are here" and "t-shirt time" and "juice-head gorillas" and "waaahhh"s. Uncle Sitch, J-Wow, Pauly D (yumyum), Vin-Vin, Snooks, I adore thee. Deana- you have begun to ease a place into my Jersey soul. Not as much Ronnie and Sam, but your antics are entertaining, if not sad.

Now I came across this  video on Perez Hilton. And I cried from laughing, and scared my cat. I think that Jimmy Fallon actually sounds exactly like my beloved Pauly and the rest are so spot on. It is basically essential to my existence that everyone watch this video who loves J.S. as much as I do.
